Engine Room

Colfax delivers pump units and packages specifically designed and built to meet the rigors of today’s engine-room environments. The result? You can count on COLFAX® pumps to withstand every challenge‚ from high flow speeds to seawater seepage. And you can be confident that our technology will keep your vital fluid-handling equipment running with precision performance.
Our focused engine-room pumping equipment is used in the following applications:
Oil Transfer
Colfax’s engine-room pumps cover everything from bunker tanks to feeding injection pumps on main and auxiliary engines. Our screw pumps have proven the most effective solution for transferring oil through the settling tank‚ over the separator system and through the booster system‚ to its final destination at the engine. Colfax products can handle the entire range of fuel oils‚ from light fuels up to the toughest oils – such as 700-centistoke heavy fuel oils – at high temperatures‚ ensuring a reliable and secure solution‚ with the lowest possible life-cycle cost. Applications covered include:
- Fuel oil transfer pumps
- Purifier feed pumps
- Booster supply pumps
- Booster circulating pumps
- Emergency diesel oil pumps
- Boiler supply pumps
Lubrication
Colfax also focuses on lubrication applications for engine systems. Again our screw pumps have proven their superior performance through the gentle treatment of the fluid‚ avoiding cavitations and keeping pressure pulsations as low as possible in the system. For main lube oil pump applications‚ Colfax provides a selection of deep-well centrifugal pumps and big screw pumps. Applications covered include:
- Lube oil transfer pumps
- Lube oil purifier feed pumps
- Stem-tube lube oil transfer pumps
- Prelube oil pumps
- Crosshead lube oil pumps
- Main lube oil pumps
Cooling water
For cooling-water applications Colfax offers highly engineered centrifugal pumps. The designs are optimized for handling seawater‚ as well as freshwater. Both impellers and housings are optimized with numerical computational fluid dynamics (CFD) calculation methods. In order to keep the units as compact as possible‚ we design them using sophisticated finite element method (FEM) calculations‚ resulting in the lowest possible weight at the highest possible safety level. Applications covered include:
- Seawater cooling pumps
- Freshwater cooling pumps
