Oil Transfer

Colfax's engine room pumps cover the complete chain from the bunker tanks to feeding the injection pumps on the main and auxiliary engines. As the fuel oil works its way through the settling tank, over the separator system to be purified and through the booster system reaching its final destination at the engine, screw pumps are the preferred solution. Colfax products can handle the entire range of fuel oils, from light fuels up to the toughest oils like 700cSt HFOs at high temperatures, ensuring a reliable and secure solution with the lowest possible life cycle cost.

Lubrication

A key focus area for Colfax in the marine market is the lubrication applications for engine systems. Again our screw pumps have proved their superior performance through the gentle treatment of the fluid, avoiding cavitations and keeping pressure pulsations as low as possible in the system. For the "Main Lube Oil Pumps" application, Colfax provides a selection of deep well centrifugal pumps and big screw pumps.

Cooling water

For the cooling water applications Colfax offers its highly engineered centrifugal pumps. The designs are optimized for handling seawater as well as freshwater. The impeller and housings are optimized with the numerical CFD (Computational fluid dynamics) calculation methods. In order to keep the units as compact as possible they are designed using sophisticated calculation methods of FEM (Finite element method) which results in lowest possible weight at the highest possible safety.
