Sump

In many power plants‚ sumps are strategically located inside and outside the plant to collect liquids – either water or oil. Once collected‚ these liquids need to be moved to a secondary location for treatment‚ reuse or disposal.
Colfax progressive cavity pumps are frequently used in sump applications because of their ability to handle multiple liquids and corrosive agents. Sample applications include water and wastewater collection‚ sump and pitch and ash-water. Additionally‚ centrifugal pumps can also be used depending on the composition of the material pumped.
